On the afternoon of February 22 2021, Military Hospital 175 along with JW LEE Center for Global Medicine (Seoul National University – Republic of Korea) hosted the closing ceremony for the E-learning Course on Trauma and Surgical care by Korean professors.
The ceremony was held online, with the attendance of SrCol. Dr. Nguyen Viet Cuong – Deputy Director of Military Hospital 175, Prof. Woonghan Kim – Director of JW LEE GMC/SNU (Korea), Prof. Ji Han Oh (Bundang Hospital). Also attending were the head departments of Orthopedics and Trauma Center, the trainees, Korean lecturers and coordinators from JW LEE GMC (Korea).

After nearly four months, the trainees had the opportunity to learn new knowledge, among which are other basic and advanced skills via 21 modules and practice sessions on Shoulders, Knees and Spine surgery.
In the Ceremony, the students are awarded with the course’s Certificate, of whom the top 5 were awarded with a special meritious variant for their achievement. Those students will have the opportunity to attend training courses in Korea as per the signed MOU between Military Hospital 175 and JW LEE GMC.

In his speech at the ceremony, SrCol. Dr. Nguyen Viet Cuong recognized the value of the e-learning course to the doctors of Military Hospital 175, allowing them to improve their knowledge, their ability to diagnose and to care for the patient; especially now as the COVID-19 plague’s end is still nowhere in sight, which means traditional international training has to be put on hold. This course is the premise on further online collaborations in training, research, as well as in other areas between between Military Hospital 175 and its Korean partners in the future, so as to continue developing expertise and techniques for doctors, facilitating advancements in patient prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care.
Military Hospital 175 and JW LEE Center for Global Medicine’s cooperation in training and research has begun in 2013. The Orthopedics and Trauma Training, which began in 2015, is on of the manpower training projects for the Orthopedics and Trauma Center/Military Hospital 175. Each course is to be held in Korea, with each providing training for 3-4 doctors. As of now, there have been 15 courses, with doctors of specialties such as General Surgery, Emergency Trauma, Spine, Burn and Microsurgery in training. In 2018 and 2019, two workshops were jointly held in Vietnam and Korea.
In 2020, due to the COVID-19 plague, training courses in Korea were put on hold, and the e-learning courses were activavted in its place.
